Yin Yang Yoga for the Balanced Life

Echo Yoga proudly offers our clients the chance to practice both Yin Yoga and Yin Yang Yoga. Yin Yoga is a more passive form of practice while Yin Yang Yoga blends two styles of yoga to emphasize more active movements. These yoga classes at Echo Yoga will recharge you and allow you to gain introspective.

Yin Yoga features fewer poses than most forms of yoga. Instead, a key feature is holding the pose for prolonged periods of time. Poses can be kept for up to five minutes and achieved with the help of tools such as straps, blankets, and blocks. The restorative benefits of Yin Yoga are plentiful—especially for individuals who have discomfort from prolonged periods of sitting while driving or at the office. With the extended periods of time between each pose, you are able to achieve the emotional health benefits too. Stress and tension will melt away from the body as you meditate through each movement. Your gratitude for your body and what it can achieve will be renewed through Yin Yoga.

Yin Yang Yoga takes the best elements from Yin Yoga and Yang Yoga to form an ideal version. While the former is more passive, Yang Yoga is structured more like Hatha with an emphasis on stamina and strength. Yin Yang Yoga is almost like two classes in one: one half highlights warming the body through movements while the other half features deep stretching techniques. Benefits of Yin Yang Yoga are numerous: more stamina and strength gains alongside stress reduction and fewer aches and pains.
